Newcastle Predicted Lineup vs. Man City: Expected XI For Premier League Match

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe might make a few adjustments to his starting lineup for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Manchester City at St James’ Park.

The Magpies, coming off their first defeat of the season with a 3-1 loss to Fulham, are still dealing with injuries to Callum Wilson (back), Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles (both knee), and Lewis Miley (ankle). Wilson, in particular, is not expected to return until after the next international break.

Howe initially started Kieran Trippier and Lloyd Kelly at full-back against Fulham but later substituted them for Valentino Livramento and Lewis Hall. Both Livramento and Hall could be reinstated to the starting XI on Saturday, playing alongside centre-backs Fabian Schar and Dan Burn.

Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes have been regulars in midfield and are likely to retain their places, though Joe Willock might be at risk of losing his spot to Sandro Tonali, who is vying for his first Premier League start of the season.

Alexander Isak, who recovered from eye and foot injuries to complete the match against Fulham, is expected to start up front despite scoring only once in his first five league games.

Harvey Barnes, having netted three goals in his last three Premier League appearances, will aim to keep his spot on the left wing, with Anthony Gordon set to start on the right. This would likely leave Jacob Murphy and Miguel Almiron starting on the bench once more.

Newcastle United possible starting lineup: Pope; Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall; Tonali, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Gordon, Isak, Barnes.
