Transfer News And Rumours: Felix To Villa, Man City Teen Departure, Balotelli Heading To Brazil

Joao Felix has reportedly set a deadline for deciding his future at Atletico Madrid, amid interest from several clubs, including Aston Villa.

The 24-year-old scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 44 appearances on loan at Barcelona last season. However, with the financially strained Catalan club unable to pursue a permanent deal, Felix has returned to his parent club, Atletico.

According to BirminghamLive, Barcelona is not keen on securing a permanent transfer for Felix this summer, creating an opportunity for long-time admirers Aston Villa to step in.

The report also indicates that Felix is eager to leave Atletico, five years after his £113 million transfer from Benfica, and wants clarity on his next destination before the end of the month.

Felix’s current valuation is unknown, but Aston Villa may look to use the proceeds from a potential sale of Moussa Diaby to Al Ittihad to entice the Portugal international to the Premier League.

Galvez ‘Set to Join’ LASK Linz from Man City

Manchester City are reportedly preparing to part ways with another young talent this summer, with 19-year-old Tomas Galvez agreeing to join Austrian champions LASK Linz on loan.

City have already seen Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Tommy Doyle, Liam Delap, and Lewis Fiorini leave the club on permanent deals, generating around £40 million from these transfers.

According to Football Insider, Galvez will finalize his move to LASK Linz after returning from Manchester City’s pre-season tour of the United States at the end of this month.

The left-back has impressed first-team manager Pep Guardiola and his coaching staff since joining City from Watford in 2021. Though born in London, Galvez has been capped three times by Finland and played 18 matches for Manchester City’s Under-21s in the Premier League 2 last season.

Balotelli Set for Brazil Move?

Former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli is reportedly being linked with a summer transfer to Brazilian club Corinthians.

The 33-year-old is currently a free agent after his contract with Turkish side Adana Demirspor expired at the beginning of July. Adana Demirspor was the 12th club in Balotelli’s 18-year career, and he could soon be joining his 13th team.

Corinthians’ academy director Claudinei Alves has addressed the possibility of Balotelli moving to the Brazilian giants, stating to reporters as quoted by The Mirror: “Corinthians are ready to offer him a two-year contract.

“The [Corinthians] president is spearheading the negotiations. We are proposing €3 million per year and a two-year deal. Balotelli’s goal is to return to the Italian national team.”

Balotelli has played across Italy, England, France, Turkey, and Switzerland throughout his career, and a move to Brazil would mark his first venture outside of Europe.
