Manchester United Submit £51m bid’ For 18-Year-Old Real Madrid Target
Manchester United have reportedly submitted a €60m (£51m) bid for Lille defender Leny Yoro, with the Red Devils attempting to beat Real Madrid to his signature this summer.
The 18-year-old came through the youth system at Lille, progressing to first-team level in 2022, and he has featured on 60 occasions for the club in all competitions.
Yoro ended the 2023-24 campaign with 44 appearances, with 32 of those coming in Ligue 1, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future in recent months.
Real Madrid continue to be heavily linked with the teenager, while Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be huge admirers, having watched him closely during the recent season.
However, according to Marca, Man United have now made a bid of €60m (£51m) for the defender, which has moved the Red Devils into pole position for his signature.
Manchester United have made a £51m offer for Yoro. Real Madrid have advised Yoro to be patient regarding a potential move to the Bernabeu, but United are determined to secure his signature.
The defender has just 12 months remaining on his contract with Lille, making a summer departure likely as a new deal with his current club seems improbable.
Former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna believes Yoro is well-suited for the Premier League, describing him as “a real talent.”
“Yoro is ready to play at a higher level. This kid is a real talent. He is only 19 years old, but I think he is ready to test himself in the Premier League,” Sagna told the Manchester Evening News.
“It looks like he will definitely be moving on this summer, and I think he could be an excellent signing. He has the potential to be one of the best players in the world in his position and is a very exciting talent.”
