Manchester United have reportedly submitted a €60m (£51m) bid for Lille defender Leny Yoro, with the Red Devils attempting to beat Real Madrid to his signature this summer.
The 18-year-old came through the youth system at Lille, progressing to first-team level in 2022, and he has featured on 60 occasions for the club in all competitions.

Yoro ended the 2023-24 campaign with 44 appearances, with 32 of those coming in Ligue 1, and there has been a host of speculation surrounding his future in recent months.

Real Madrid continue to be heavily linked with the teenager, while Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be huge admirers, having watched him closely during the recent season.

However, according to Marca, Man United have now made a bid of €60m (£51m) for the defender, which has moved the Red Devils into pole position for his signature.

Manchester United have made a £51m offer for Yoro. Real Madrid have advised Yoro to be patient regarding a potential move to the Bernabeu, but United are determined to secure his signature.

The defender has just 12 months remaining on his contract with Lille, making a summer departure likely as a new deal with his current club seems improbable.

Former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna believes Yoro is well-suited for the Premier League, describing him as “a real talent.”

“Yoro is ready to play at a higher level. This kid is a real talent. He is only 19 years old, but I think he is ready to test himself in the Premier League,” Sagna told the Manchester Evening News.

“It looks like he will definitely be moving on this summer, and I think he could be an excellent signing. He has the potential to be one of the best players in the world in his position and is a very exciting talent.”

What is the center-back situation at Manchester United? Raphael Varane has played his last game for the club, with the former France international set to officially depart the 20-time English champions when his contract expires at the end of June.

Manchester United have confirmed they are in discussions with Jonny Evans regarding a new deal, following his impressive performances last season.

Lisandro Martinez is certain to remain with the club, but there is speculation about the futures of both Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof, as the Red Devils are reportedly open to offers for the pair.

Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite is believed to be United’s primary target, but his transfer could be hindered by a valuation of around £80m by the Toffees.

Antonio Silva is another potential target, though his release clause is €100m (£85m), and Benfica are reportedly unwilling to consider offers below this amount.
