Cristiano Ronaldo Aiming For Double Real Madrid Reunion At Al-Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly keen for Al-Nassr to target two of his former Real Madrid teammates during the summer transfer window.
The legendary Portuguese forward has spent the past year and a half at the Saudi Pro League club, scoring an impressive 64 goals in 70 appearances. However, aside from the Arab Club Champions Cup, Ronaldo has yet to win any additional silverware at Al-Nassr, who finished as runners-up in the league and King’s Cup in 2023-24.
Despite this, it has been confirmed that the 39-year-old will remain at Al-Nassr for next season, leading to speculation about how they will strengthen their squad.
Due to squad restrictions for continental competitions, Al-Nassr cannot sign numerous foreign players during the off-season. Nonetheless, Ronaldo has reportedly shared his opinion with the club’s management, advocating for the possibility of two former teammates joining him in the Middle East.
Ronaldo is eager to reunite with Casemiro and Nacho for the 2024-25 season, as reported by Marca.
Casemiro is expected to leave Manchester United in the coming weeks, having shown signs of decline towards the end of the recent season. United, keen to bolster their position with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability regulations, are looking to offload the Brazilian’s wages.
As for Nacho, he recently ended his 23-year association with Real Madrid, having made 364 appearances for the club. His departure coincided with another Champions League triumph, with the 34-year-old playing the full 90 minutes in the final against Borussia Dortmund.
The likelihood of both players accepting offers depends on various factors. Nacho’s decision hinges on his future plans; while a move to MLS was previously anticipated, it now seems less likely.
For Casemiro, Al-Nassr must first secure an agreement with Manchester United. However, it’s improbable that United’s new transfer hierarchy would block his move to the Saudi Pro League if he desires it.
Al-Nassr might need to offload one of their foreign players, potentially Anderson Talisca, before making a formal bid for Casemiro.
