How Germany Could Line Up Against Ukraine
Germany will be missing several players involved in the 2024 Champions League final when they face Ukraine in a friendly on Monday night.
Antonio Rudiger and Toni Kroos, who played in Real Madrid’s victory over Borussia Dortmund in the final on Saturday, will not be available. Similarly, Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck and Niclas Fullkrug will also be absent, though all four are expected to be included in Julian Nagelsmann’s final Euro 2024 squad.
With Marc-Andre ter Stegen unavailable, Manuel Neuer will start in goal. Despite anticipated changes, Germany is expected to field a strong XI, with Kai Havertz likely leading the attack.
Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala, and Florian Wirtz are also expected to start, while Ilkay Gundogan is likely to be joined in midfield by Robert Andrich.
Robin Koch might feature in central defense due to Rudiger’s absence, and Maximilian Mittelstadt is set to earn just his third cap at left-back.
Deniz Undav will aim to make his second appearance for the national team, and there are four uncapped players in the squad, including Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier.
