Potential Real Madrid Starting Lineup Against Alaves
Real Madrid’s head coach Carlo Ancelotti is set to implement alterations to his starting lineup once again for Tuesday’s La Liga encounter against Alaves at the Bernabeu.
Having secured the league title earlier this month, Los Blancos are rotating their squad in the final stages of the 2023-24 campaign, with matches against Villarreal and Real Betis on the horizon.
As they build towards the Champions League final on June 1, the playing time of the players will be carefully managed to ensure they are in optimal condition for the crucial match.
Although a significantly altered team emerged victorious with a 4-0 win against Granada on Saturday, several key players are expected to return for this fixture. Dani Carvajal, Nacho, Ferland Mendy, Federico Valverde, Toni Kroos, Jude Bellingham, and Vinicius Junior are among those potentially returning to the lineup.
Brahim Diaz, who scored twice against Granada, could retain his place, while Thibaut Courtois is anticipated to continue as the goalkeeper.
Courtois, who recently returned from a lengthy absence following two knee surgeries, is speculated to start the Champions League final ahead of Andriy Lunin, the primary goalkeeper for most of the season.
Ancelotti might field a strong lineup on Tuesday before rotating once more against Villarreal on May 19. Subsequent adjustments are expected against Real Betis, with that fixture occurring one week prior to the European Cup final.
David Alaba remains sidelined for Real Madrid, while Aurelien Tchouameni is striving for fitness for the Champions League final after sustaining a foot injury against Bayern Munich last week.
Possible Real Madrid starting lineup: Courtois; Carvajal, Rudiger, Nacho, Mendy; Valverde, Camavinga, Kroos; Bellingham; Diaz, Vinicius
