Arsenal are reportedly aiming to secure three or four new high-profile signings in the upcoming summer transfer window, continuing their trend of significant investment in the squad.

During the summer window of 2023, the Gunners spent over £200 million on acquisitions, including Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, and the record-breaking £105 million signing of Declan Rice.

Although Timber has faced setbacks due to an ACL injury in his debut season with Mikel Arteta’s team, both Havertz and Rice have become integral parts of the Arsenal lineup as they strive for success in the Premier League.

As they prepare for a highly anticipated North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, Arsenal currently sit atop the league table, leading Manchester City by one point and Liverpool by two, with the latter having played an additional game.

However, Arsenal’s title aspirations are not solely in their hands, as City’s match in hand means that even if Arsenal win all their remaining fixtures, they could still be overtaken by City if they match their results.

Cedric Soares is set to depart when his contract expires, while Mohamed Elneny is expected to follow suit. Jorginho’s contract extension remains uncertain beyond the current season.

While Jorginho and Thomas Partey, whose contract expires in 2025, may stay on for the next season due to their contributions, the same cannot be said for Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson, and Eddie Nketiah.

The trio’s homegrown status might work in their favor during the summer overhaul, but as many as five loaned-out players could face the axe, including Kieran Tierney, Marquinhos, and Nuno Tavares.

Albert Sambi Lokonga’s impressive loan spell at Luton Town might earn him another chance, but Arthur Okonkwo, currently with Wrexham, appears unlikely to receive a contract extension beyond his current deal, which expires in June.
