How Arsenal Might Set Up Against Tottenham Hotspur

Arsenal are gearing up to reintroduce Jurrien Timber to the first-team squad just in time for Sunday’s North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

After his much-anticipated transfer from Dutch giants Ajax last summer, the defender suffered a serious knee injury in the opening league match of the season against Nottingham Forest in August.

Taking significant strides towards complete recovery, Timber made an appearance for Arsenal’s Under-21s on Monday night. Mikel Arteta mentioned that the Dutchman could potentially feature at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Considering Timber’s gradual return, Takehiro Tomiyasu is expected to start for the second consecutive match after being sidelined for the Wolverhampton Wanderers victory last Saturday as a precautionary measure.

Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz maintained their impressive goal-scoring streak during the 5-0 victory over Chelsea on Tuesday night, making it unlikely for either of them to be benched for the upcoming match.

As a result, Brazilian duo Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus are likely to be named among the substitutes once again, alongside fellow attackers Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith Rowe.

Thomas Partey, who made his first Premier League start in over a month against Mauricio Pochettino’s Blues, is expected to retain his place alongside Declan Rice and the consistently impressive Martin Odegaard in Arsenal’s midfield.

Ben White, who doubled his top-flight goal tally for the campaign with a brace on Tuesday night, will aim to maintain his commendable form at right-back as the season draws to a close.
