Potential Manchester United Starting XI against Brentford
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is concerned about the fitness of several players ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Red Devils will definitely be without Luke Shaw (muscle), Tyrell Malacia (knee), and Anthony Martial (groin) for the match against the Bees. Additionally, Amad Diallo is suspended due to his red card in the FA Cup victory over Liverpool.
Furthermore, Harry Maguire withdrew from England duty before their match against Belgium, while Lisandro Martinez is nearing the end of his recovery from a knee injury but still joined the Argentina squad for further rehabilitation.
Jonny Evans (strain), Altay Bayindir (unspecified), and Casemiro (muscle) are also doubts after missing the 4-3 win against Liverpool, potentially leaving Ten Hag without nine players for the match in West London.
If Maguire is unavailable, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof are expected to form the central defensive partnership in front of Andre Onana, with Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka likely to operate as full-backs.
Kobbie Mainoo, who recently made his England debut, is set to return to the Manchester United midfield, with Scott McTominay likely to join him if Casemiro is ruled out.
While Antony scored in the cup victory over Liverpool, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, and Bruno Fernandes are expected to support Rasmus Hojlund in attack.
Potential Manchester United starting lineup: Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Varane, Dalot; Mainoo, McTominay; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund
