Manchester United Are Reportedly Contemplating A Reduced-Cost Transfer For Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Leicester City’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall with the possibility of making a move for the midfielder during the upcoming summer transfer window. Dewsbury-Hall, 25, has delivered impressive performances for the Foxes throughout the 2023-24 season, tallying 10 goals and 13 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.

Despite being under contract at the King Power Stadium until June 2027, there are suggestions that Dewsbury-Hall could depart this summer if Leicester fails to secure promotion to the Premier League. Currently positioned second in the Championship table, Leicester’s promotion hopes have encountered challenges, with only a slim one-point lead over third-placed Ipswich Town. The Foxes, once dominating the league earlier in the season, are now facing the possibility of slipping into playoff contention.

According to reports from 90min, Dewsbury-Hall is expected to seek a move if promotion eludes Leicester this season. Manchester United has emerged as a potential suitor for the midfielder’s services.

According to the report, Brighton & Hove Albion’s attempt to secure the midfielder with a £20m bid in January was unsuccessful, as Leicester City has set a £45m price tag on him.

Despite this setback, Brighton is reportedly preparing to renew their interest in the midfielder during the upcoming summer transfer window. However, Manchester United has also initiated contact with the player’s representatives to explore the possibility of a transfer.

In the event that Leicester fails to secure promotion this season, it is believed that Dewsbury-Hall could be allowed to depart the club for a fee in the region of £25m during the summer transfer window.

Having progressed through the youth ranks at Leicester City, Dewsbury-Hall made his senior debut for the club in 2017. Since then, he has accumulated 121 appearances for the Foxes, contributing 15 goals and 18 assists at the senior level.

Dewsbury-Hall boasts considerable experience in the Premier League, having made 59 appearances in the competition. Additionally, he has participated in European competitions such as the Europa League and Europa Conference League.

Man United’s midfield department is poised for changes this summer, with speculation surrounding the potential departures of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen from the club. Furthermore, Sofyan Amrabat’s loan spell from Fiorentina is unlikely to be made permanent, as the Moroccan midfielder has struggled to make a significant impact since his arrival last summer.

As a result, the club may be in the market for two new central midfielders ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. In addition to their interest in Dewsbury-Hall, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Joao Gomes is reportedly being admired by the Red Devils. Moreover, there is longstanding interest in Benfica’s Joao Neves as a potential midfield addition.
