Chelsea’s Former Manager, Thomas Tuchel, Is Reportedly Open To The Idea Of Returning To The Club This Summer
It’s reported that Thomas Tuchel is open to the idea of returning to Chelsea for the 2024-25 season. Currently with Bayern Munich, the 50-year-old will depart his role at the end of the campaign. Bayern has faced challenges this season, trailing behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga standings. However, a crucial 3-0 victory over Lazio in the Champions League last 16 has provided a boost. Bild suggests that Tuchel would contemplate rejoining Stamford Bridge after leaving Bayern Munich.
The report suggests that Chelsea’s leadership has come to recognize that they may have erred in dismissing the German coach early in the 2022-23 season.
Owner Todd Boehly, an American, opted to part company with Tuchel after only four months at the helm, replacing the 50-year-old with Graham Potter.
Potter, formerly of Brighton & Hove Albion, had a brief tenure in West London, lasting just seven months before club legend Frank Lampard took over until the season’s end.
For the current season, Mauricio Pochettino was appointed, but he has been unable to significantly alter Chelsea’s league position.
