Reportedly, Tottenham Hotspur have identified Pedro Neto and Eberechi Eze as their primary transfer targets for the upcoming summer window. After addressing defensive concerns with significant signings such as Micky van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario, and Pedro Porro over the past year, along with integrating Destiny Udogie into the squad, Spurs now aim to strengthen their attacking options.
Ange Postecoglou’s dynamic playing style emphasizes speed and stamina, prompting the club to make substantial investments in James Maddison and Brennan Johnson last summer. According to the Independent, Spurs are seeking another rapid winger to complement their squad for the next season.
Although Spurs hoped to secure one of their top targets in January, inflated transfer fees thwarted their plans, leading to the loan signing of Timo Werner for the remainder of the season. While a permanent deal for Werner remains undecided, Tottenham reportedly has their sights set on either Neto or Eze, considering their impressive performances this season.
At Crystal Palace, Eze primarily operates in a central role, but with Maddison likely to occupy a similar position at Tottenham, Eze may need to adapt to a wider role if he joins Spurs.
However, Tottenham Hotspur faces stiff competition in the race to secure Eberechi Eze’s signature, as Manchester City have also expressed interest in the 25-year-old, with strong links persisting throughout the summer.
Despite injuries disrupting Eze’s campaign on multiple occasions this season, the English midfielder has made significant contributions, being involved in eight goals in 20 appearances for Crystal Palace, building on his impressive tally of 10 Premier League goals last season.
Similar circumstances surround Pedro Neto, who has struggled with injuries over the past two and a half years. However, when fit this season, the Portuguese winger has showcased his talent at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Neto has already equaled his most productive season in England, registering two goals and nine assists in 17 Premier League outings thus far. Consequently, Wolves are demanding a substantial fee for Neto, close to £100 million. Yet, Spurs may be hesitant to invest such a large sum due to Neto’s recent injury history.
According to the report, negotiations could involve reducing this valuation slightly to reach an agreement, especially considering Wolves’ potential need to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
Tottenham Hotspur boasts a plethora of attacking options in their squad, including the likes of Heung-min Son, Richarlison, and Dejan Kulusevski. They will aim to outperform Eze’s Crystal Palace when they clash in the Premier League on Saturday.
