It’s reported that Aaron Ramsdale has made the decision to depart Arsenal during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper joined the Gunners from Sheffield United for a fee of £30 million plus add-ons in the summer of 2021, during Mikel Arteta’s tenure.

Establishing himself as the first-choice goalkeeper at the Emirates, Ramsdale played in all 38 of Arsenal’s Premier League matches last season as they competed closely with Manchester City for the English title.

Since his move from Bramall Lane at the start of the 2021-22 season, the English goalkeeper has appeared in 88 matches for Arsenal across all competitions.

According to Football Insider, Ramsdale has made a firm decision regarding his future beyond the current season.

According to the report, the England international is keen to depart the North London club in the summer transfer window, primarily due to his significantly reduced playing time this season.

It is believed that Ramsdale considers himself to be at a crucial stage in his career, where he should be regularly playing as the first-choice goalkeeper at a top-level club.

Several Premier League and European clubs are reportedly closely monitoring the goalkeeper’s situation and are prepared to submit formal bids in the upcoming transfer window.

Since the arrival of David Raya on a loan-to-buy deal from Brentford in the summer, Ramsdale has relinquished his status as Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper.

The goalkeeper, who has represented his country four times, has only been included in the starting lineup for five Premier League matches this season as Arteta’s team pursues the title, managing to secure two clean sheets.

Ramsdale’s most recent appearance for the Gunners was in the FA Cup third-round match against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, which ended in a 2-0 defeat for the North London side.

Since the 1-0 victory against Brentford, the former Bournemouth goalkeeper has not had any playing time in the Premier League.

With another stint on the bench expected in the top flight, Ramsdale is unlikely to feature when the Gunners face Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United next Monday.
