Possible Chelsea Lineup Against Leeds United

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino is facing a significant absentee list ahead of Wednesday’s FA Cup fifth-round clash against Leeds United at Stamford Bridge.

Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Lesley Ugochukwu, Romeo Lavia, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Benoit Badiashile are all still sidelined with injuries and will play no part in the midweek fixture.

Moreover, Thiago Silva and Marc Cucurella were not cleared to return for Sunday’s EFL Cup final defeat to Liverpool, despite nearing partial team training ahead of the game.

Silva is anticipated to be the first to return from injury, but with limited time for recovery, Pochettino is likely to have the same pool of players to choose from against Leeds.

Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, who made a return to the bench at Wembley following a knee injury and personal issues, could reclaim the starting position from Djordje Petrovic. Alfie Gilchrist and Trevoh Chalobah are probable candidates for defensive roles.

Axel Disasi and the injury-plagued Ben Chilwell might be replaced, with Levi Colwill possibly shifting to left-back. However, midfield options for alterations are scarce.

Conor Gallagher and Enzo Fernandez are likely to retain their places, though Gallagher might drop deeper if Moises Caicedo is rested, allowing Christopher Nkunku to slot into the number 10 role.

Mykhaylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke could provide fresh legs out wide. Raheem Sterling, who was substituted midway through the second half at Wembley, may start in the central role instead of Nicolas Jackson.

Chelsea Possible Starting Lineup: Sanchez; Gusto, Gilchrist, Chalobah, Colwill; Gallagher, Fernandez; Madueke, Nkunku, Mudryk; Sterling
