Millwall Officially Announce The Departure Of Head Coach Joe Edwards
Millwall have confirmed the departure of head coach Joe Edwards. Edwards was appointed as the successor to Gary Rowett back in November, with his tenure beginning on a high note with a 4-0 victory away at Sheffield Wednesday.
However, despite the promising start, Millwall’s form took a downturn, with the team managing only three wins in the following 18 games, all coming during the Christmas and New Year period. Subsequently, the team suffered a string of defeats, including a 4-0 loss at home to Ipswich Town and a 2-0 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday at The Den. With Millwall now sitting just one point above the Championship relegation zone, the club’s decision-makers have opted for a change in leadership.

Chairman James Berylson expressed his sentiments regarding the departure, stating, “This has undoubtedly been a challenging period, and the decision was not made lightly. I extend my gratitude to Joe and Andy for their contributions to the club and wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”
Recent reports have indicated that Millwall is exploring the possibility of reuniting with former manager and club icon Neil Harris, who is currently at the helm of League One side Cambridge United.
