West Bromwich Albion Have Officially Confirmed The Acquisition Of Midfielder Yann M’Vila
West Bromwich Albion has officially confirmed the completion of the signing of midfielder Yann M’Vila.
The Baggies recently held fifth position in the Championship standings, initially establishing an advantage over the pursuing teams. However, a defeat to Southampton on Friday night, coupled with victories for Coventry City, Norwich City, and Hull City over the weekend, has left West Brom more exposed than they were the previous week.
Carlos Corberan had been actively seeking to bolster his midfield with the addition of M’Vila, a player with whom he has previously collaborated at Olympiacos.
M’Vila has been a free agent since leaving the Greek club last year, following a tenure that saw him make 140 appearances in all competitions since 2020.

Nonetheless, he is now returning to English football, where he previously played for Sunderland, featuring in 37 Premier League matches during the 2015-16 season.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Corberan stated: “We’ve encountered an injury to Jayson Molumby, leaving us with fewer midfield options than we would prefer. Yann is a highly positive addition for us. He brings a wealth of experience and is motivated to contribute.”
“We’ll need to manage his fitness carefully as he has been without a club since the summer, but we’re confident he has the determination to be ready for the crucial months ahead.”
Although Tuesday’s game against Plymouth Argyle is too soon for M’Vila to make his debut, he could potentially be included in the squad for the match against Hull City on Saturday.
